I’m a freshwater ecologist with a master's degree (2009) from Universidade Estadual Paulista Júlio de Mesquita Filho (Brazil) and PhD (2019) from the Universiteit van Amsterdam (Netherlands). Before the PhD I worked as an environmental specialist in the environment department of the São Paulo city monitoring urban lakes (2009-2016). Currently I’m a postdoc at University of Sao Paulo (Brazil) investigating the effect of forest restoration on stream ecosystems. My research covers the following topics: stream ecology, ecological restoration of streams, benthic invertebrates, decomposition and stream metabolism. Also, I'm mother of two children: Iberê (4 years old) and Uirá (2 years old).
