Dr. Allison Roy is Unit Leader for the U.S. Geological Survey's Massachusetts Cooperative Fish and Wildlife Research Unit and Research Associate Professor in the Department of Environmental Conservation at the University of Massachusetts Amherst. She works closely with partners from state and federal agencies to address research needs related to freshwater ecology and conservation in the eastern United States. Her collaborative research program in the last decade has included urban stream ecology, environmental flows, winter lake drawdowns, dam removal, anadromous river herring, and freshwater mussel conservation, among other topics. She mentors postdoctoral researchers, graduate students, and undergraduate students to address these research needs. She received her MS and PhD degrees from the University of Georgia and worked at the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and Kutztown University before joining the U.S. Geological Survey.
