Ben is a population ecologist studying small fish in small streams. A big part of this work is creating tools and systems to explore complex data (see usgs.gov/apps/ecosheds/) and AI is an increasingly important part of these systems. After 30 years with USGS, Ben has just retired and is embarking on a 2nd freelance career focusing on data viz and applying AI to hard scientific problems.
