Ruth Morara is an undergraduate student at Kent State University in Ohio. She is a member of the Costello lab group, where she works as a lab assistant. Ruth holds dual citizenship in Kenya and the USA, but she spent most of her life in Kenya, where her parents hail from. Her long-term goal is to bridge the ecology research gap between the USA and Africa through becoming a researcher in freshwater ecology.
