This has inspired her to bring her acquired knowledge of macroinvertebrates to her indigenous community. She is currently, a graduate research student at New Mexico State University working on her masters in the Water Science and Management program. Her thesis investigates the impacts of subsequent flow variations on Macroinvertebrate assemblages.
